My Italy Adventure

Sara and I at St. Peter's
WAS AWESOME!!!!!!

I had such a great time in Italy.  Seeing Sara again for the first time since we graduated GWU was great.  We went to see all the sights, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navarro, the Coliseum, the Palatine Hill, the Forum, the Vatican museums and St. Peter's Basilica.

We had such great meals in picturesque locations as well.

The one problem was all the tourists trying to do the same things we were doing.  It was a bit crowded in all the famous spots which is to be expected.  On Saturday night all the museums in Rome were open and free till 2 a.m. so we tried to take advantage of that and had some "fun" with history taking funny pictures with the Roman statues.  We went to the 2 museums that had no line, and therefore it was a much better experience.

The dome of St. Peter's

Gardens of the Vatican

Famous Torso by Michelangelo (He liked his naked men)

The Pieta
An impromptu concert we saw in one of the museums Saturday night in a beautiful really old building.

The Wedding Cake Building

The Coliseum

Arc of Constantine

Four Rivers Fountain by Bernini
Overall the English in Italy was pretty good, my students asked me today if the Italians spoke better English than them.  I said it was hard to tell because I understood the Italians and I understand my students.  This is my last week at the Language School and this week I should be receiving my letter that tells me where I am next year, I hope in Zaragoza.  As always comments are appreciated because I feel like people aren't reading this blog and I am wasting my time.

  1. Glad you had such a great trip. I like the photos, but have to wonder why you're not posting the funny Roman statues? More dirty naked men??? xoxo Tia E
